Transparent Pontiac for Sale
This bizarre Pontiac’s body was created by Rohm & Haas, inventor of Plexiglas, to show off its revolutionary new material, back in 1939, and this particular car is the only one of two such vehicles that’s known to survive.
RM Auctions expects that a 1939 Pontiac with a Plexiglas body will go for anywhere between $275,000 to $475,000 at the St. John’s auction that’s being held as part of the Concours d’Elegance of America in Plymouth, MI this July.
It almost doesn’t look real and you need to see a few angles to see that it is not just a clever piece of CGI!

Shelby GT500CR | Awesome
OK so we have a winner for ShipMyCar’s Car of the Year award
The Shelby GT500CR by Classic Recreations….
The GT500CR was the best of both worlds with the classic good looks of the original Shelbys combined with the performance of a 545 horsepower V8 and modern suspension system. Now Classic Recreations is taking it a step further with the introduction of the Shelby GT500 CR Venom. The new high performance model pairs a ProCharger F1-R centrifugal supercharger with the 427ci V8 to produce a tire-shredding 780 horsepower.
In addition to the supercharged engine, the suspension has been upgraded, larger brakes fitted, and wider wheels and tires have been added to handle the extra horsepower. Inside, race-style bucket seats, a 200 mph speedometer, and Venom badging have been added to the standard GT500CR components
Performance is incredible with 0-60 in less than 4 seconds….

Chrysler 300 SRT8
One of our favourite vehicles on show at this years New York Motor Show was the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, which shows just how far American cars have progressed in terms of European fit and finish.
Take the steering wheel for example, well on their way to an Audi-esk type of set up and quality
The old 6.1L engine has been uprated to a 6.4L V8 Hemi which now puts out 465bhp giving this beast the power to get from 0-60 in under five seconds.
Transmission is via paddle shift which is a bit of a shame as previous paddle shifts are not yet up to Audi/Porsche spec yet and so the option for manual would have been a bonus, but still, the car looks awesome!

eBay ’69 Mustang Boss
The seller of this 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 bought it from its original Akron, Ohio owner who racked up a scant 4,405 miles before offloading it back in the day. It’s been garage-kept all its life, and still sports its original, terrifying bias-ply tires. According to the seller, this particular Boss 429 is fitted with the coveted ‘S’ engine, a feature only available on the first 279 Boss 429s produced.
The current owner says he bought the car in excellent shape in 2007 and had it professionally cleaned and re-awoke the engine after a long slumber. Since then, the car has been pampered and its astonishing mileage preserved.
Despite its low mileage, the Boss participated in, and won, a couple bracket races when new. The quarter windows still carry the winner’s stickers. The price for this all-original time capsule is enough to make even the most-hardcore Mustang fan gulp. Buy-It-Now is set at an astounding $550,000

Skyline GTR vs. Ford GT
The immense torque of a 5.4l V8 Supercharged Ford GT is shown in this video when it is pitted against a 2012 Nissan Skyline GTR.
The Ford GT has had some performance work carried out by Heffner Performance in terms of a pulley change and remap but the level of defeat the Skyline suffers from rolling starts shows just how powerful the Ford GT is.

2012 Boss 302 Mustang Test
The reviews of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 are still flowing in since the media drive last month, and Road & Track has finally published their full test of the Laguna Seca model. The magazine raved about the car, calling it the “best-handling production Mustang ever” and that the “undisputed boss of the pony car ranks is the Ford Mustang.”
The numbers are impressive as well. The magazine posted a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds and knocked out the 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds @ 117.2 mph. They were also able to record the best lateral acceleration figures yet – 1.02g – and published the first lap times of the Laguna Seca we’ve seen so far – a 1:39.5.
You can watch Road & Track’s video review of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca below:

1968 Steve McQueen Mustang
The Bullitt Mustang featured in two generations of special edition Mustangs – the lastest on the S197 incarnation of the Mustang was a fantastic car and very popular here in the UK – we shipped many of the green Stangs to the UK for lucky customers across the country.
Gateway Classic Mustangs are a high end manufacturer of high performance vintage Mustangs and their latest offering is the ’68 Steve McQueen Mustang, the same from the movie. The difference with this one though is they are using the awesome Roush crate engine with a 5 speed manual to push output to 450bhp
The car has also been built with modern suspension using coil overs – the brakes are from Baer and the car also comes with a hydraulic clutch. To complete the modern luxury the car also comes with air conditioning and an MP3 based sound system.
Shipping a Gateway Classic Mustang to the UK
If you are lucky enough to purchase one of Gateway Classic Mustang’s fantastic vehicles you will have no problem bringing it to the UK using us at ShipMyCar – we can collect the car for you, ship it to the UK in a container and fully insured, unload it, clear it through UK customs and bring it to our workshop ready for MOT and DVLA registration.
Will a Gateway Classic Mustang need an IVA test here in the UK?
No, as the vehicle starts life using an original ’67 or ’68 Ford body, the vehicle will be titled to 1967/1968 meaning it will be over ten years old for IVA requirements and making importing one all that cheaper

2013 Shelby GT500
According to Car and Driver the next GT500 looks like it is going to be powered by a larger 5.8l engine putting out 600+ horsepower using an Eaton Supercharger instead of the M112 currently used.
According to insiders we have also heard that the next Shelby GT500 will have some styling changes that will move the car away from the retro look and more into a modern, edgy appearance.
We think it is a bit of a shame that they have decided to think about losing the retro styling – Mustangs tried to be ‘modern’ in the 90′s and it never really worked. The 2005+ went back to retro styling and sold by the millions…
Judging by this spy shot it is unclear whether they have moved to the addition of LED taillights however this spy shot mule we would imagine is more about testing the new powertrain rather than any bodywork or lighting changes.
Shipping a Shelby GT500 to the UK
We specialise in Mustangs and carry out any IVA modifications using our inhouse developed Lighting Control Unit which safely powers the additional lighting required without any damage to ECU or other SJB’s.
For 2005-2009 we can replace the entire rear light cluster with a sealed European lighting unit and for 2010+ we can utilise LED’s to ensure an invisible IVA conversion

Roush RS3 Mustang
As Roush Authorised dealers we can provide any Roush performance upgrade or Roush vehicle through our sister site, ImportMyVehicle.com.
We were the first UK dealer to bring over a Stage 3 Roush a few years ago and had it quickly snapped up by BBC Top Gear to let the Stig take it round their track which, as expected by us, did exceptionally well with even the normally anti-American-car Clarkson saying that it was a truly brilliant car. Click here for Top Gear video
Well Roush have just announced their latest incarnation of the Stage 3, called the RS3. Power is up again to a huge 540bhp and there are 288 colour combinations to choose from. We like the Jack Roush signature on the back and the new faux fuel filler cap.

Supersnake vs. Cobra
ShipMyCar has shipped a number of Cobras and Shelby Supersnake, have you ever wondered which is the fastest Shelby though? Hot Rod decided to find out by taking each car round the track….
550bhp in a Cobra is insanely quick and fairly frightening with top down, loud driving, but can you live with one day-to-day like the Shelby Supersnake? That is pretty much the conclusion to the below video – the Cobra is quicker round the track but the Supersnake is such an easy to live with vehicle…
Shipping a Cobra to the UK can be a challenge getting them through the IVA test – as most are replicas built and titled less than ten years ago they will require IVA modifications and testing – we know all the modifications needed and can carry out all these changes and testing for you which include (but certainly not limited to): new steering wheel, seats with head rests, 3-point seat belts, new dashboard switches, radius edges of all chrome parts, catalytic convertor, etc etc
The Shelby Supersnake is very straightforward to get through the IVA test, we carry out our usual IVA modifications using our ShipMyCar Lighting Control Unit and Invisible IVA Package

2012 Camaro ZL1
Chevrolet have decided to recreate the awesome 1969 Camaro ZL1 which was an extremely rare and very powerful Chevy.
The latest version is tagged as the fastest and most technologically advanced Camaro ever built. As if the standard V8 Camaro is not enough, the ZL1 will feature a supercharger taking power to 550bhp and Chevrolet aiming to improve lap times, not just straight line speed by introducing six piston calipers and Magnetic Ride Control.
We have shipped many Camaro’s and developed the invisible IVA to ensure they stay as standard looking in the UK after the IVA test, but we are very much looking forward to bringing one of the first back to the UK

1964 Dodge Hemi $1.1m
Nameplates like Charger and Hemi might be commonly associated with the Dodge brand, but like any household name, it had to start somewhere. And that somewhere was with the concept you see here.
Made to showcase the then-new 7.0-liter Hemi V8, the 1964 Dodge Hemi Charger concept car is one of the most coveted pieces from Dodge’s history. It packs one of the 15 original race Hemis built, mated to a three-speed automatic. The fully restored, extreme bodywork puts it on the map, but the reported output of over 600 horsepower (kept in check by hydraulic drum brakes) promises to rip it right up.
The last time this vehicle changed hands in 2007 it went for a reported $1.1 million. Now it’s destined for the gavel once again as RM Auctions takes it to the Arizona Biltmore on January 20th
If you are the lucky highest bidder of this beautiful vehicle please be sure to contact us for a car shipping quote

SYNC Applink. Awesome.
If you are an Android or Blackberry user you will be able to use Ford’s new Applink Technology which allows you to not only control your phone but also some of the Apps on the phone, for example you can use Twitter via your car’s display using voice-activated functions. That is clever stuff that we at ShipMyCar love to hear about!
Below is a full press release from Ford regarding the Applink, if you are looking to ship a new Mustang to the UK please contact us for instant quotes for Car Shipping:
DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 5, 2011 – Ford will launch SYNC® AppLink next as a factory-installed feature for the 2012 Ford Mustang. AppLink is the free software program that gives SYNC users voice control of apps stored on their smartphone.
Mustang will be the first vehicle that will offer AppLink with the standard SYNC interface, as well as be integrated into the optional Voice-Activated Navigation System, providing the additional convenience of an 8-inch touch screen for control.
“Mustang is an exciting next addition to the AppLink portfolio, giving Ford the ability to offer more of our customers a smarter solution to using apps while in the car,” said Doug VanDagens, director of Ford Connected Services. “We continue to move quickly and migrate smart technologies across our vehicle portfolio that deliver solutions customers are demanding.”
Just a few weeks ago, Ford went live with AppLink as a download on www.syncmyride.com, available exclusively to 2011 Ford Fiesta owners for popular mobile apps, including Pandora internet radio, Stitcher news radio and OpenBeak.
Adding AppLink compatibility as factory-installed content to the iconic Mustang puts Ford further out front in the race to integrate smartphone apps into the car and shows the company’s commitment to offer advanced in-car connectivity services and features to a widening range of vehicle owners.
Recent studies indicate 46 percent of adult smartphone users have apps on their phones and 36 percent of those admit to using those apps while commuting.
Mustang owners have historically shown a strong desire for connectivity in the car, with nearly 75 percent of Mustang buyers opting for the SYNC system at purchase. And for those who also opt for the Voice-Activated Navigation System, AppLink will integrate app access and control through the system’s 8-inch touch screen.
“Our Voice-Activated Navigation System integration allows us to enrich the AppLink experience even further, giving customers an industry-first combination of voice control and touch-screen access to the apps stored on their mobile phones,” said Julius Marchwicki, Ford SYNC product manager.
Codeveloped with Ford, the Clarion Navigation System available on Mustang is loaded with a number of features and functions designed to provide customers a superior level of connectivity and information, including an extensive set of navigation tools as well as up-to-the-minute news about weather, traffic, fuel prices, movie listing and more through Sirius Travel Link™.
Cool infotainment features are also abundant with the Ford Navigation System, including HD Radio™ technology, a digital jukebox hard-drive that can store up to 2,400 songs and easy access and useful screen displays for SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio. And since the Navigation System is factory-installed, it also works seamlessly with SYNC.
The navigation screen menu for SYNC apps first lists available factory-installed system apps such as 911 Assist™, Vehicle Health Report and SYNC Services through Traffic, Directions and Information. Tap the menu subset for Mobile Applications, and the Navigation System touch screen will then list the current SYNC-enabled apps found on the SYNC-paired smartphone that are ready for launch by voice command.
AppLink is currently compatible with Android and BlackBerry devices, and with Apple iPhone coming in early 2011. Current availability of SYNC-enabled apps:
Pandora
Apple iPhone: Coming early 2011
Android: Available now (V1.5.3 or higher)
BlackBerry: Available now (Version 1.1.6 or higher)
Stitcher
Apple iPhone: Coming early 2011
Android: Coming early 2011
BlackBerry: Late availability
OpenBeak
BlackBerry: Available now (Version 1.4 or higher)
Additional SYNC-enabled apps, smartphone integrations and new model SYNC-equipped vehicles ready for AppLink are coming soon, said Marchwicki.
